The results of fault-free wind farm management visually reflect the reliability of wind farm equipment,operation and inspection management and safety production management level.The China Electric Power Technology Market Association(CEPTMA)has been assessing the management achievements of fault-free wind farms for four years,with 70 100-day fault-free wind farms assessed in 2020,209 100-day fault-free wind farms assessed in 2021,449 fault-free wind farms assessed in 2022,and 652 fault-free wind farms assessed in 2023,which is a remarkable achievement.
In the field of new energy generation,lightning disaster is an important challenge for wind farm operation and maintenance.As a powerful energy in nature,the destructive power of lightning far exceeds our imagination.A single direct lightning strike can damage the blades of a wind turbine,and the backlash caused by an increase in ground potential can also generate over-voltage and over-current in the lines,leading to power supply interruptions or equipment burnout.In some harsh environments,the metal part of the grounding device is susceptible to soil corrosion,and within a relatively short period of time it loses its conductive effect on the lightning current,rendering the entire grounding network ineffective.
Wind turbines are usually installed in high places,and the tips of the blades are prone to gather electric charge and become the target of direct lightning strikes.The surface of the blades is highly susceptible to electric field distortions due to bird droppings(dirt flashes),condensation,salt spray,etc.,inducing direct lightning strikes.There are also areas where wind turbines are located where lightning strikes are frequent due to the special geographical environment......In short,lightning and lightning-related problems are a major hidden danger in the O&M belt of wind farms.
